This booklet accompanies Navin Rawanchaikul's exhibition, which is titled 'The Tale of Two Cities' and presented by the Singapore-based gallery Yavuz Fine Art at ART HK (Hong Kong International Art Fair), from 17 to 20 May 2012. According to Steven Pettifor, curator of the exhibition, '"A Tale of Two Cities" chronographically traces the dramatic changes within urban Asian mercantile traditions. Exploring aspects of community from a geo-cultural perspective, the new series incorporates deliberately nostalgic photographic studio-style paintings, alongside documentary video, textual work, and sculptural installation.'
