A review of the exhibition, 'Brush and Ink: The Chinese Art of Writing,' curated by Maxwell Hearn that took place at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art in September 2006. While most of the pieces were drawn from the collections of the Met, a half-dozen works on-loan by contemporary artists were included, in a sense placing contemporary calligraphy in the larger historical context.
