In May 2011, the Daegu Art Museum is inaugurated with 'Qi is Full', a group exhibition comprised of not only Korean contemporary artists, but also four selected artists representing a certain period of Korea's modernisation, and four Western contemporary artists who play influential roles in the Korean art scene. 'Qi is Full' explores the essence and spirit of Korean modern art with two sections, namely 'Drawing Yi (significance/ meaning)' and 'Seeing Ji (trace)', delineating the artists' individual perspectives and attitudes towards their surroundings, towards life, and in what way they interpret them into art.

Includes essays and artists' biographies.

Note that the historical figures, Chu-sa KIM Jeong-hi (b.1786), YUN Du-seo (b.1668), and JO Yeong-seok (b.1686) are excluded from the artist list, and so as the non-Asian participating artists (Gerhard RICHTER, Donald JUDD, Richard SERRA, and Roman OPALKA).
