'Redemption is the product of an experimental collaboration between Anna Hellsgård and Christian Gfeller with Filipino-American artist, Manuel Ocampo.

'It can be regarded as Anna and Christian’s remix of Ocampo’s work that was produced during his artist residency at Bongoût. The sketches, drawings, doodles and watercolours that form the raw material of this book were produced alongside the work Ocampo exhibited during his solo exhibition at Bongoût in December 2009. In some cases these formed the preparatory work to the final paintings or various iterations of elements that would then go on to form one of Ocampo’s large-scale oil paintings.

'Anna and Christian “remixed” these elements, which they see as a distilled and immediate impression of Ocampo’s universe, into new compositions, drawing new connections between initially isolated pictorial elements and creating a new context for them with their own work – paintings, graphic print elements and even a photograph of Christian’s father’s work. The result is a radically new take on the process and scope of artistic collaboration, and proof of the merit and success of daring to interact artistically in new ways.' (from publisher's blog)
