'No Name' is the first artist group that emerged much earlier than the Star Group. Its founders Zhao Wenliang, Yang Yushu, Shi Zhenyu and Zhang Daan began to create modern art in the late 1950s, believing that 'art is for art's sake'. The present exhibition is a retrospective of the art activities of the 'No Name Group' during the 1960s and 70s, in particular during the period of the Cultural Revolution. Artist biography is provided in this catalogue.
