A review of Charwei Tsai’s show at Osage Soho in May 2008 in Hong Kong titled Transcience. Tsai uses delicate Chinese characters on ephemeral mediums, such as on an octopus, and observes the decay that distorts the original message using both video art and photography. She uses foods from every day life to present her politicized art process—as a Taiwanese artist, she often refers to the conflict between China and Taiwan.
