A review of the exhibition Naked Beyond Skin at Tang Contemporary Art in April 2008. It describes Xiang’s sculptures, which are larger than life-size fiberglass figures, and all are in hyper-realistic detail, and seem glumly aloof and androgynous. The author reviews the exhibition as interesting, but lacking emotional sustenance.
