Catalogue of Richard Tsao's solo exhibition at Chambers Fine Art in 2005. As Benjamin Genocchio has pointed out in his essay, Tsao is very tuned in to what is currently in vogue but has chosen to follow his own path, wherever that leads him. In his case everything springs from a working process that has evolved intuitively over the years, enabling him in his heavily encrusted, jewel-like canvas to embody treasured memories of Thailand, dim reminiscences of ancient China and numerous experiences of a more personal nature.
