Silapathorn Awards was initiated by Office of Contemporary Art and Culture - Ministry of Culture in 2004 to promote prominent Thai contemporary artists who are in their mid-career and whose exceptional works have been appreciated nationwide. Silapathorn Awards 2005 are presented to Pornchai Jaima for visual arts and Apichartpong Weerasetthakul for film.
