The exhibition by Mahbubur Rahman was initiated and developed from discussions the artist had with students at the artists' society in Chittagong, Bangladesh. 'Spell of Weeping' addressed the protests of students facing the closure of the Dept. of Fine Art at Chittagong University because of the government's decision that only one art institution, the Government Art College, was needed for the city of Chittagong. The exhibition, including the performance 'Bright Artist', was held at the Alliance Francaise, Dhaka, 1-3 November 2003. Includes biographical information.
