This monograph features works by Hong Kong photographer Stephen Lam from 2007 to 2011. Works included in the book are captured in various cities, including Tokyo, London, Barcelona, Madrid, New York and Hong Kong.
As the artist says in the introduction, 'A photograph is like an illegitimate child of reality. When you press the shutter, you cut off the umbilical cord to which reality is attached. A new being is born. It begins to take on a life of its own, but always maintains a semblance of the truth it used to represent.' Through his contemplative images, the artist shows how photography, while strongly anchored in reality, is also a perfect tool to explore the most personal emotions.
Includes a short introduction by the artist and artist biography on the back flap.
