This publication presents Sudarshan Shetty's body of work spanning 1993 to 2010. Includes selected exhibition history, selected bibliography, and an index of works. With essays by Thomas McEvilly and Vyjayanthi Rao.

'Sudarshan Shetty, best known for his enigmatic and moving sculptural installations has long been recognized as his generation's most innovative conceptual artist in India. Moving from painting exclusively to installation early on in his career, Shetty explores the fundamental ontological challenges presented by our immersion in a world of objects. His assemblages meticulously raise questions about and address challenges arising from the material rendering of imaginations of scale and form and experiences of space and repetition. Working with the mechanical animation of objects and the philosophical implications of the quest for mechanical life, Shetty draws on a terrain that centers on the social life of things and their capacities to offer new kinds of subjective experience and new ways of mapping relations between humans and things, gatherings of the networks through which our cultural sensibilities proliferate and assemble meaning.' - Vyjayanthi Rao
