This catalogue accompanies the 4th Auckland Triennial, 'Last Ride in a Hot Air Balloon' at Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki, Artspace, The George Fraser Gallery, ST PAUL St and Shed 6, March to June 2010. The exhibition looks at the impulse towards adventure and risk in art practice today as they pertain to the exploration of materiality, the experience and history of adventure as tropes, political spaces without polarity, physical freedoms and alternatives for ecological and economic structures.

Along with essays by curator Natasha Conland, Doryun Chong, and Leonhard Emmerling, this catalogue includes artist pages that take a closer look at each participant's work. Artist biographies and a list of works are provided.

Note: Only artists of Asian descent are included under 'Artists'.
