The latest print exhibition by Pongdej Chaiyakut is favorably reviewed by Klos Boonthawee who finds beauty in the artist's mastery of drypoint technique. The show runs from October 3 to 21, 2007 at Jamjuree Art Gallery, Chulalongkorn University until it reopens in Chiang Rai in December. The exhibition, "J,Q, K" shuffles portraits of iconic figures--Einstein, the Mona Lisa, Van Gogh, Gandhi-- with portraits of local characters and friends of the artist. The portraits are unified by their borders which reference a deck of playing cards and the humorously anachronistic iconography of the sitters.
