'The Second Dance Song is a presentation of new works created with a selected group of artists, initiated through a discussion of a few starting points that in one way or another they respond or relate to. In this, it was deliberate that the approach would set up or enable the continuation of a series of other processes of art making. The incorporation of the production of the work in the development of the exhibition creates an opportunity to work with the artists at the point of realisation rather than simply presentation. The proximity to the creative process is part of an attempt at the re-spatialization of the autonomy of the role of the artist within the schema of production, to bring the process of the exhibition into the production of the work; it is at the same instance a reflection on the process of mapping the distances between artist and artwork that define contemporary art practice within the exhibition framework.' - extracted from essay by June Yap. Images of works are accompanied by individual texts and artist biographies. Other participating artist includes Frederic Sarkozy.
