This book was published as a result of the international workshop 'Ties: Visual Arts of the Indian Diaspora', which was organised by Mahatma Gandhi Institute in Mauritiaus in 2009. The workshop and the exhibition that followed showcased works by 25 Indian diasporic artists. The book includes a list of participating artists, artists' statements, and plates of their works.
