It is a monograph by Nindityo Adipurnomo. For almost ten years now Nindityo has been obsessed with the Konde (a fake hair knot, that is part of the tradional Javanese costume) and try to explore all its possible meaning. He tried to break through the artist's position of authority as the central creating figure by collaborating with craftpeople, who almost never get the honour of being mentioned by name for their work.
