'Too Much Flavor' has already become a daily experience of contemporary living which is largely consumption-oriented. This is a result of globalisation as well as a feature of contemporary China which is undergoing rapid transformations since the early 1980s.
In the opinion of the curator of this exhibition, contemporary art is capable in offering a subtle insight and a socially critical attitude towards this phenomenon of 'Too Much Flavor'. The study of these art works not only makes possible a better understanding of contemporary living, it also allows for a critical analysis of the development of contemporary art under such circumstances. Artist biographies are included.
