This article on the Baroda episode is written by Raghu Karnad and Shruti Ravindran with R.K. Misra in Ahmedabad and input from Payal Kapadia in Mumbai.  It sees the May 9th vandalism of works by the student artist Chandramohan Srimantula by a Bharatiya Janata Party and Vishwa Hindu Parisha (VHP-Bajrang Dal) activist as a way for politicians to "hijack debates on free art."  Experts seem to share the opinion that there is a way to responsibly continue the erotic traditions of Indian art and that censorship can be avoided by increased sensitivity and education in the field of Indian visual culture.
