'Who are you? Where are you really from?' accompanies, and explores issues related to, the symposium on Faith and Identity in Contemporary Visual Culture, at the Whitworth Art Gallery in 2006. Both the exhibition and symposium form part of the UK's Festival of Muslim Cultures 2006-07, which is committed to creating opportunities for dialogue and positive cultural interaction through the arts, fostering greater appreciation and understanding of Muslim cultures.
