This is the catalogue of a joint exhibition by Yi Ling, Hei Yue, Xiao Guofu, Li Xinhui and Zhang Hongbo. Coming from different parts of China, these artists all stay at the Yuanmingyuan village. Although they are not established in the same way as artists like Fang Lijun and Ding Fang, they are according to Lix Xianting, 'representative of the village spirit of artistic freedom'. Further, the exhibition organised by these artists has a casual and spontaneous quality with no particular overall direction, a quality which is rare among all the exhibitions organised by critics, curators and art historians nowadays. With preface by Li Xianting and short article by Zhang Hongbo. Artist biographies are also provided.
