In the third exhibition of the series Inviting the Immortals, the icons which Yang Maolin sees as representatives of the subcultures of Taiwanese contemporary society, namely Japanese cartoon characters Pikachu and Astro Boy, appeared in the form of woodcarved statues and with poses similar to the Buddhas and Buddhisattvas. Artist's biography is included.
