Held at ACC Galerie Weimar and lothringer dreizehn in 2004 and 2005 respectively, the exhibition 'Even the Moon is Not Autonomous' joins contemporary initiatives and projects from Japan, among them artist coorperatives, artist initiatives and network of conceptual artists. It continues the field research Autonomy and Politica Action (2003) by the project group of artists REINIGUNGSGESELLSCHAFT, focusing on the political and social role of art. Through installations, films, photographs, and objects, the exhibition touches on such issues as control, terror, violence, war, nationalism, activism, and the political past, as well as consumption, education, environment, work, emancipation, and globalisation.
Includes trilingual introductions of participating art group/artists and their works.
