This catalogue is published in conjunction with the exhibition 'Knit Cafe in My Room by Mitsuharu Hirose and Minako Nishiyama', held at 21 Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, Japan for one year from March 2009 to March 2010.
As introduced by the curator Daisuke Murata, 'this was a long-term project-typed exhibition developed at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa as the third stage of Kanazawa Youth Dream Challenge Art Programme. Volunteer members between the ages of 18 and 39 were engaged in the production and operation of the project with the artists and the museum. They supported the operation in various ways including contributing in producing the exhibition space, operation "The Everyday Knit Project" which was carried out every day for any viewers, and teaching children in knitting workshops held through cooperation with schools in Kanazawa.'
The book includes the project calendar, photo documentation of the production process, outline of activities and workshops, essay by Daisuke Murata, and artists biographies.
