This monograph of Indonesian artist Putu Sutawijaya was published in conjunction with his solo exhibition entitled 'Legacy of Sagacity' held at Galeri Nasional Indonesia in 2008.  According to the curator Jim Supangkat, morality is an integral element in the art practices of Indonesia.
The belief in morality, which lies the emphasis upon virtuosity and righteousness, is an important part of the aesthetic thinking that underlies the understanding of art in Indonesia. Putu Sutawijaya's work is seen as a contemporary example of this tradition. Artist biography is included in this monograph.
