Yang Shanshen is one the leading masters of the Lingnan School of painting and is well-known for his animal, landscapes and flower-and-bird paintings. This is the catalogue for Yang’s retrospective exhibition at the Hong Kong Museum of Art in 1995. Over 120 images of Yang’s paintings and calligraphy are presented here, together with an in-depth study of his life and his art over the decades. Biographical information, information regarding the seals used by the artist and a list of collectors of Yang Shanshen's paintings are also included.
