Drowning = Solidity — Exhibition Poster

A handmade poster with a text written by Natasha Kraevskaia. The poetic text gives a brief introduction to the exhibition, with an epigraph by Joseph Brodsky. Natasha had also attempted to emulate the writing style of Tristan Tzara and Carlos Franqui in the essay.
Photographs of Le Hong Thai and his works are glued to the poster.

‘Drowning = Solidity’ was a solo exhibition by Le Hong Thai. The artist in his early practice had been known for his abstract lacquer paintings with the employment of traditional lacquer technique on wood. In this exhibition Thai introduced to the public his experimental lacquer works on canvas for the first time, together with some of his abstract gouaches works.
