Catalogue published on the occasion of an exhibition of the same title held at Singapore Management University from January to February 2008 as part of SMU Arts Festival 2008. This is the first time in the festival's history SMU has commissioned and organized a major contemporary visual art exhibition. Curated by Eugene Tan, thirteen of Singapore's most prolific and internationally recognized artists have responded to his interpretation of the art festival's theme of the sense-world. The artists have been challenged to respond to the unique nature of SMU's public spaces, a labyrinth of five buildings connected by a underground concourse and situated between the National Museum and the Singapore Art Museum. The works in the exhibition are intended to enchant, amuse, and confront the senses as well as one's perceptions of art.
Descriptions of artworks and selected exhibition history of each artist provided.
