'There are many ways in which we can rejoice in and celebrate the Commonwealth Games 2010 taking place in Delhi. We have chosen the artistic one by showcasing in our galleries in Rabindra Bhavan, New Delhi largely new and specially created works by more than 100 artists. Each one of these artists has chosen to explore a thematic of either Delhi, or Cityscape or the Games. Of necessity, these works are largely in the narrative mode. However, they together reveal a rich and complex plurality of styles and visions that are active in the contemporary art scene in India. New geographies of imagination have been discovered and explored as also one could discern tendencies to both celebrate and wonder, to question and affirm.' -excerpt from the foreword
