Catalogue of exhibition entitled China Pavilion curated by Gu Zhenqing at the 2006 Liverpool Biennial. As said by Gu, Liverpool Biennial, by nature, comprises no national pavilions. Chinese Pavilion not only alludes to the global tendency derived from biennale systems, it is also a comment on the inequality often seen in cultural exhanges that results in the misinterpretation of thoughts and cultural exports from developing countires. The present catalogue provides descriptions of the exhibited works, documentation of the installation process, artist interviews by Li Qiushi, Wei Xing and Lin Jia, and artist biographies.
