Chu Hing Wah’s recent paintings show a close interaction between people and their surrounding, be it a park or a cityscape of Hong Kong Central. His paintings are rarely dramatic and their compositions are seldom busy. The wider use of muted pastel colours, which are applied flatly, to portray natural scenery and people at leisure, imbues his paintings with a tranquil mood. It is in these ways that Chu endows his figures and his paintings with feelings and emotions. A biography of the artist is included.
