In recent years, the large-scale development of high-tech creative zones has become not only a hot topic in urban planning, but in cultural construction as well. The management of the Zhang Jiang High-Tech Park is dedicated to exploring the integration of culture and technology, and culture and the city. As a result, curators, scholars, and artists are invited to test out the possibilities of integrating contemporary art with this high-tech zone. For this project City In Progress / Live From Zhang Jiang, artists are invited to make preliminary visits to the Zhangjiang site, analyze its developmental issues, and submit proposals that could benefit the area's development. The results of this on-site research are consequently displayed on location in Zhang Jiang High-Tech Park and in an exhibition at The Shanghai Gallery of Art. The present publication features the 'Reseach in Progress'.

近年來，大型高科技園區已成為城區規劃及文化生態的熱點。張江高科技園區的管理層銳意探索文化與科技、城市的結合。為此，他們廣邀策展人、學者及藝術家參與，以研究將當代藝術與高科技園區結合的可能性。在《城市進行式 / 現場張江》的活動中，獲邀藝術家須親往張江實地考察，以分析當地的發展事宜，進而提出可以裨益該地發展的計劃書。這個調研項目的成果最終於張江高科技園區和滬申畫廊展出。本出版主要記錄’調研進行式’。
