Anton Del Castillo's use of the medieval altarpiece convention, with the subject matters being contemporary  Muslim-Christian dialectic, made his works arresting. At the same time, it could be understood as his contemplation on the Muslim-Christian conflicts that were prevalent in southern Philippines.
