Voyages by the internationally renowned art collective (founded in 1984 by a group of Kyoto art students) was held between 23 Aug - 27 Aug 2002, at the NTT InterCommunication Center, Tokyo. Voyages, which consists of performance, video, installation, challenges perception, narrative, questioning how our memories are formed - from bits of data, scattered images, fragments of words, etc. "The important thing is not in remembering words, but in how you yourself recompose these words into a reality - in how you make memories into something of your own..." The emphasis on digital forms and technology reveals an always already superficial relationship between art and nature. Essays and biographical information on Dumb Type.
