One of two publications (see: Fukuda Shigeo) produced in conjunction with a joint exhibition between Fukuda and his daughter, Fukuda Miran. The exhibition was held at the Setagaya Art Museum, Tokyo, 14 July - 9 September, 2001. The format of the parent-child exhibition allows the audience to see similarities and difference - connection and separation - between the two artists. A major poster graphic designer, Fukuda Shigeo soared to fame during the postwar period when Japanese poster design was influential on a world scale. Although the younger Fukuda has obviously inherited some things from her father, she is also an individual artist on her own merit. Known as a "conceptual existentialist", Miran's works in painting and mixed-media "evoke major discussions in the art world". Includes essays and chronology.
