1a Space is an independent, non-profit organisation and art venue founded in 1998 by a collective of Hong Kong art-workers. According to 1a Space's website, it aims to 'promote the making, experimentation, exchange, and dissemination of contemporary art both in Hong Kong and in the international arena.' Between 2001 and 2002, 1a Space moved from its first location in an old government warehouse on Oil Street to its current location at Cattle Depot.
