17 young Asian-American artists were represented in an exhibition entitled, "One Way or Another: Asian American Art Now" at The Asia Society (New York). The exhibition ran through 10 December 2006. The individual vs. the collective and Asia's influence on American life were some of the common themes. One artist borrowed Asian subject matter (samovars and hookahs), another was inspired by Bollywood posters, and one artist used the technique of Mughal miniature painting.
