This catalogue was published on the occasion of the exhibition J'en reve, at the Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain, Paris in 2005. The exhibition presents works by 58 young artists discovered and selected by internationally renowned artists who have worked closely with the Fondation Cartier throughout its 20-year history. A reflection of contemporary culture and a portrait of today's youth, J'en reve reveals a generation that has grown up overloaded with images. Objects have given way to photography, painting and above all video, as these artists obsessively pursue themes of identity in their work. Wielding tremendous freedom and possibility, they shift between artistic disciplines and work in multiple styles simultaneously. The catalogue also includes the event programme of the four-month long arts festival Nomadic Nights.
