Other Histories: Guan Wei's Fable for a Contemporary World' was a major installation at the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney (2006-7), and has been described as 'maybe Guan Wei's masterpiece'. The exhibition, inspired by the Ming dynasty voyages of Admiral Zheng He (1371-1432) and the artist's own journey of migration to Australia, combined museum objects with large-scale mural paintings and transformed the Museum gallery into a floating poetic corridor in which history and memory, fact and fiction are blurred.' (Extract from front flap)

This book documents Guan Wei's exhibition and includes a statement and working drawings by Guan as well as essays written by Claire Roberts, Geremie R. Barme, and Alexis Wright.
