Each of the twelve Chinese artists were invited to design a building, which would serve as venues for activities in 'Hopeland', situated in the city of Yinchuan, Ningxia Province, China, where the International Motorcycle Festival is held. Artist Mao Tongqiang took photographs of the construction process of this project, and they have been compiled into the present monograph.
