'R N Joshi an active, honest, fearless, visionary artist and social worker had a clear concept of art in creating his art-works. He had not only developed his own style in oil with knife paintings based on people and landscape but also worked on Tantra paintings. He was a pioneer and modern in on-the-spot water colour landscapes. Most of his master pieces are in private collection in the country and around the world.

This is a short introductory book on R N Joshi's life and works, the author concisely describes him not just as a pioneer landscape artist but beyond that — he was enduring and prominent painter of Nepal who lived a short life (1938-1988) but still immensely popular for his concepts, opinions and contributions in widening the horizon of Nepalese art.' - from the front flap
