This is the post-exhibition catalogue for 'RUANG', which was organised by Nhawfal Juma'at abd Zulkhairi Zulkiflee, two younger members of the Malay art group Angkatan Pelukis Aneka Daya (APAD). RUANG proposes to be 'a visual arts exhibition that inteprets the Malay word for "space" as intersecting propositions of visual works across a variety of practices and mediums. It is concerned with the site of artistic presentations beyond the white cube and what it implies, appropriating an unconventional, non-white cube space as its canvas.' The exhibition gathers an intergenerational group of ten artists working in various mediums ranging from installation, conceptual art, soft sculpture to Batik.
