The above mentioned exhibition is the result of a new exchange programme Dialogues d'images initiated by the AFAA in 2005. The programme sets out to address contemporary issues in photography, video, graphics and design, by confronting a fixed corpus of 30 to 50 works by French and European artists with a series of works by artists from the country hosting the exhibition. The latter are selected jointly by the French curator and a curator from the host venue. The approach is intended as a way of enriching a series of major exhibitions, endowing them with a unique character at each venue. The present catalgoue is published on the occasion of the exhibition Sign d'Existence held at CAFA Gallery in China. Images of works in the catalogue are accompanied by artist biographies. Please note that only Asian artists are listed below.
