Building on the collection of Hung Jui-Lin's works donated by his family to the Ministry of Culture and NTMoFA in 2019, this exhibition adopts the theme of 'laborers' to survey the development of realist art in Taiwan within a historical context. One of the first-generation artists of Taiwan, Hung was known as the 'miner painter' and 'humanistic painter'. 37 artworks and five sketchbooks by Hung are featured in this exhibition. In addition, 46 works by 23 other artists have been selected from the museum's collection to map out the trajectory of Taiwanese realist art and show how labourers have been portrayed in different periods.

With a curatorial essay by Hsiao-yu Lin.
