Catalogue published on the occasion of the exhibition 'The Galleries Show' held at the Royal Academy of Art, London in 2002. Over the last decade the number of galleries in London running ambitious contemporary programmes has risen from under ten to well over fifty. this book showcases thirty-three, all of them sustaining serious, international, contemporary programmes of individual character that are open completely free to the general public.
