This publication documents Eva Yuen's Two Faces: Nanking-Hong Kong Project 1979/80. The project was conceived after the artist became interested in hand-coloured portraits produced by photography studios in Nanjing and had her own portrait taken. On her return to Hong Kong, she had a colour portrait taken in a local photo studio. Through the project, the artist tried to 'explore the differences of her own images (outlooks) and behaviours in two different structured societies' while interacting with people in the process and build up relationships using her creativity.
Eva Yuen's artist statement, correspondences exchanged with people in China and photo-documentation of this project are included in this publication.
