Catalogue published on the occasion of of the solo exhibition 'News' by Wang Guofeng at the de Sarthe Gallery in Hong Kong from November to December 2013. Works featured in the exhibition are blurry and fuzzy manipulation of historic photos of the past taken from magazines, newspapers and digital images obtained through the internet.
'He forges a new kind of real form and visual form through the selection, application, reproduction and modification of images. This is to say, he blurred and fuzzed the color or black-and-white pictures through computer technology, so as to strengthen the strangeness and distance between historic (images) and real (images). These treatments also provided a subjective interpretation toward images, meaning he has left great space for imagination between images and words and between reality and surface features.' - from essay by Huang Du.
