The publication is produced on the occasion of solo exhibition of Chinese artist Xu Longsen of the same title held in Hanart TZ Gallery, Hong Kong in March 2015.
Xu Longsen seeks to restore some kind of order to Chinese landscape paintings from within the chaotic and broken state, retrieving the cardinal virtues of Chinese painting - the qualities of being forceful and unrestrained, open-hearted and expansive. This exhibition showcases the artist's recent landscape paintings, including the new, monumental six-metre horizontal scroll, together with a selection of his works.
