'In 1959, Fernando Zóbel held his first exhibition in Spain, with a number of works establishing and consolidating his abstract principles. These included his now famous “Saetas”, some early pictures in his “Black Series” and a selection of drawings from this important period in his career. A catalogue was published with interesting text by Antonio Magaz Sangro. In light of the renewed interest in Zóbel's work both in Spain and in the Philippines, we have decided to republish this catalogue, including an English translation to allow greated understanding and dissemination of his work.' - extracted from the back cover
