This is the catalogue of the First 'CAFAM . Future' Exhibition which was held from August to September 2012 at Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) Art Museum in Beijing. The exhibition focuses on the new generation of young Chinese artists (including Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and overseas) under the age of 35. Out of the 286 artists nominated by the 'Nomination Committee', nearly 200 artworks by 95 artists were selected for the exhibition. The exhibited artworks are organised around a set of themes: Rampant Growth, Self-Media, Micro-Resistance, Otaku Space, Shallow Life and Unknown. The exhibition aims at offering a point of reference for the future of contemporary Chinese art.
